Trauma Awareness Folder
"Educate Your Community"
04/15/2004

The ATS, along with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) are collaborating on a trauma awareness campaign. The coalition has produced a folder to educate the public, primarily legislators and local businesses, on the value of trauma centers and trauma systems. The six-panel folder explains:

• What trauma centers and trauma systems are
• The costs and benefits of trauma care
• How trauma centers and trauma systems link to Homeland Security
• How to support a local trauma center
• How trauma systems save lives

The folder is also customizable with an insert profiling a real trauma survivor from most states. Be sure to ask if your state profile is available when you call ATS.

NEW! DVD: Now, this trauma awareness piece is accompanied by a six-minute video featuring interviews with leading trauma surgeons, a trauma survivor and her family and ATS Executive Director Harry Teter.
